Mint Chocolate
Some things one makes for oneself (like the European Style was made by Fr. Stan for himself). Some things one makes for everyone (like the Amaretto). But the Mint Chocolate was made for a very helpful lady at a company that sells us packaging.
I was at a meeting with her at a coffee house. When I asked her if she had any ideas for flavors she got very thoughtful for a minute and then gave me a very stern look and said, "you have to make mint!"
She went on to explain that she always buys a certain hot chocolate mix that comes with a big variety of flavors. All the other flavors except the mint She gives to her kids and her husband. The Mint is for her.
Curious, I began asking her what aspects she likes about the mint. Does she like it sweet? Dark chocolate? And so on. We ended up having a good talk about mint and chocolate and finally even my packaging. After that meeting I got to work.
There are all kinds of mints. Peppermint, Spearmint, Winter Mint, and so on. Finally I settled on a kind of chocolate mint profile that I had always loved since I was a child: The Girl scout 'Thin Mint' cookie. What is so great about that cookie is that its very chocolaty, not too sweet, and the mint is light, cool and definitely crisp. We succeeded in making a mint hot chocolate that is strong in chocolate, not too sweet, and has a magnificent mint that isn't too strong, but will tingle your tongue.
At the next meeting with the lady I finally presented her with my mint masterpiece. She drank it and said, " Its Cool, Chocolaty, and refreshing... The mint is definitely refreshing! "
One serving has 1.66 oz. of mix (almost 70% more than some brands) so that the milk is perfectly reconstituted and the chocolate taste is profound. One wouldn't add more chocolate, but you wouldn't take any away either. You'll just want another one later.
All our mixes, only use real cocoa and real dried milk from pasture cows that are free of added rBST and antibiotics for an incomparable taste. There are no artificial additives, preservatives or fake milk mixes. "Heavenly things for a Heavenly people!... As is perfectly right!"
